Fruit powder is a great way to add flavor and sweetness to many desserts. Because it has less moisture than fresh fruit, it is especially good in cakes, pies and other baked goods where the texture needs to be kept moist. Since fruit powder can be used as a substitute for any other dried fruit in recipes, you have the flexibility to use your favorite type of dried fruit. Or try a combination of different fruits for a unique flavor.

  • 2 cups unsweetened dehydrated fruit (apricots, strawberries, kiwi,watermelon and so on)

  1. Slice desired fruit into thin slices.
  2. Place on dehydrating trays; place in a dehydrator and dry at 125°F for 4 to 12 hours until completely dry (this depends on the fruit chosen).
  3. Place in a freezer overnight.
  4. Transfer frozen dehydrated fruits to a blender and process until a smooth powder form is achieved.
