- 5 cups water
- 1/4 cup distilled white vinegar
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1/2 inch of dehydrated chile pepper, crumbled
- 1 whole clove, crushed
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch
- 1/2 cup dehydrated shredded beets
- 1/2 cup dehydrated shredded carrots
- 1/2 cup dehydrated shredded apples
- 1/2 cup dehydrated shredded cabbage
- In a large saucepan, combine the water, vinegar, sugar, and crushed chile and clove, stirring until well blended.
- Fold in the remaining ingredients, cover, bring to a boil, reduce the heat to low, and simmer for 2 hours.
