Ingredients
  • 2 pounds flank steak
  • 3/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp Hawaiian salt
  • 1 1/2 tbsp sugar
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 ginger, mashed
  • 1 red chili pepper, crushed

  1. Slice flank steaks into wide strips about 1 1/3 inches. Mix soy sauce, sugar, Hawaiian salt, garlic, ginger and chili pepper in a bowl. Coat steaks with the sauce and marinate overnight.
  2. Place marinated steaks in an electric dehydrator and dehydrate by following manufacturer's drying directions (usually 150°F for 6 to 7 hours).
  3. Store dried steak jerky in the refrigerator.
