Dehydrated Recipes

Caramelized Almonds | Commercial Dehydrators

Caramelized almonds are a tasty snack on their own, but when used as a topping for green or grain salads, they add a totally new flavor dimension and texture. This recipe works well with many different kinds of nuts, but almonds are especially nutritious. When adding an ingredient such as maple syrup or honey, the nuts will feel sticky when taken out of the dehydrator. Once they are cooled, the mixture will adhere and the nuts will be crispy.

Basic Soaked Nuts | Commercial Dehydrators

There is research to suggest that first soaking and then drying nuts makes them easier to digest by reducing naturally occurring enzyme inhibitors. This process is referred to as making crispy nuts and is generally deemed to be more healthful than eating raw nuts. This is a basic recipe for soaking nuts. Of course, any nut, or a combination thereof, can be used. Cashews, however, are not truly raw and do not need to be soaked for longer than 6 hours.
